Metal Shards is a Resource in Horizon Zero Dawn. Metal Shards can be used for buying Weapons and crafting Items. Resources can harvested from defeated Enemies.

Metal Shards Use

  • Are required to craft most of the Ammo in Horizon Zero Dawn.
  • Are needed to upgrade the following Items:
    
    • Resources Satchel upgrade 1 to 4.
    • Traps Pouch upgrade 1 to 4.
    • Weapons Satchel upgrade 1 to 4.
    • Modifications Satchel upgrade 1 to 4.
    • Outfits Satchel upgrade 1 to 4.
    • Ammo Pouches/Quivers upgrade 1 to 4, including the upgrades in Horizon Zero Down: The Frozen Wilds
• Trading:
  • Are needed to buy most Weapons and Outfits in Horizon Zero Dawn.
