Use your Focus Ability

The focus ability allows you to gather critical data from your Enemies, such as Elemental Weakness, Weakness, Level and patrol route. Remember to always use your Focus ability before a fight to decide how you want to approach it. The Focus Ability also allows you to Tag Enemies, making this a Habit is very useful while fighting multiple enemies.

Using Heavy Weapons

Most high level machines are equipped with special Heavy Weapons that deal massive damage. You can knock down these weapons by dealing enough tear-iconTear Damage. Once knocked off, you'll be able to pick up the weapon and use it until it runs out of ammo. This is very useful as it both decrease the enemy firepower while increasing your own.

Using Stealth

Stealth is a very important mechanic in Horizon Zero Dawn as it allows players to sneak behind and between enemies. If you continuously run through the open, Enemies will be quickly alerted of your location. Try to stay low and use the environment to your benefit.

Learn About your Enemies

Remember that you can Retreat

While confronting machines, you may end up luring more attention that you originally wanted, leading to an almost impossible fight. Remember that you can retreat by breaking the line of sight and reestablishing your stealth. You can then resume come back and resume the fight.

Crafting

When selling an item marked as "Selling for Metal Shards" don't be afraid to sell it, as it's only meant for profit. This can save you time while deciding what to keep and what to sell.
